Hey everyone! So I've decided to do another journal entry (the longest one I've ever done so far); this time, I'm giving my two cents on characters from the Sonic universe that never became regular characters. Also, I wanna let you know of the Forgotten Mobians Club, in which I am now a member of. I'll make sure to do that at the end.
Mighty the Armadillo Admittedly, I can understand why Mighty is no longer in the universe. Most cases, SEGA names their Sonic characters in such a way that it relates to their looks (e.g.: Tails, Knuckles, Silver) and/or attributes (e.g.: Sonic, Espio) and/or personalities (Charmy). Mighty is no different.
As for the actual "why," there's technically only room for one physically powerful and mighty Mobian in the Sonic universe....
....And that would be Knuckles, if you were wondering....
The Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad (holy s**t, that's a lot to say just in one breath alone LOL) Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts are practically the main reason I like
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Even though they made it into one game (see
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine), I still think they could've been in more than just
one game,
one Sonic TV show, and
the ONLY Sonic Christmas special ever made.
Now, admittedly, you probably ask "Why?" Well, it's because I just love their 24/7 gullibility, duh! (Then again, that's probably the
ONLY reason people love those three dumbbots.)
The Tails Doll F**k that doll; he's f**king creepy as shit!
Sonia and Manic Sonic Underground doesn't strike me as an all-time favorite Sonic TV show (namely because of the singing), but Sonia and Manic, Sonic's siblings, and a few other things were the only reason I still had a like for the sibling music trio.
Sonia, like all female Sonic characters, isn't afraid to stand up and give someone a good whuppin' for her brother, and Manic's theiving nature definitely causes some trouble, but I love them because they are Sonic's siblings. I mean, sure SEGA may make some s**tty Sonic game where he's got siblings that aren't Sonia and Manic, but those two are the only Sonic siblings you cannot replace with really sucky games.
The SatAM Characters Sally, her pocket computer NICOLE, Antoine, Rotor, Bunnie, Sir Charles, and Snively were some interesting and great Sonic characters. Even though they starred in the only not sucky Sonic TV show ever; the Archie comics;
Sonic Underground (Chuck only, and that was ONE episode out of 40); and
Sonic Christmas Blast (Sally only), the Knothole Freedom Fighters were the best out-of-game Sonic characters in the universe, hands-down.
Just like Sonia (and all the other female Sonic characters), Princess Sally Acorn and Bunnie Rabbot (mind the fitting pun) definitely kicked some ass throughout TV screens and pages printed by Archie Comics. With Sally's intelligence and Bunnie's powerful left limb and Southern can-do attitude (even though said left limb and her legs were turned from flesh-and-fur to pure metal no thanks to "Robuttnik" himself), those two were my favorite overall.
Snively, Dr. Robotnik's mistreated nephew, is definitely cold and calculating, half-like his uncle Julian (Robotnik) in the "cold" area. In the fanmade Sonic SatAM continuation webcomic
Sea3on, he "makes Julian look like a Sunday picnic!" And it is honestly pretty accurate.
Antoine; oh poor, jealous, cowardly Antoine.... I basically just described why I like him, so what's the point of doing a whole paragraph on that?!
Sir Charles, Sonic's "Uncle Chuck," is a notable father figure to Sonic, mostly because he (more than likely) takes up the majority of Sonic's childhood memories. Still, he's a very unique character, and I say that because while Bunnie was half-roboticized, Sir Charles was
fully roboticized, which makes him that much more interesting (and a favorite on my nerdy side). (By the way, Bunnie's a fav on my pervy side. LOL)
Now if you managed to read
all of this, then I am actually impressed.
Finally, as promised, the Forgotten Mobians Club (as the name suggests) is a group here on deviantART that primarily focus on preserving the memory of the characters I mentioned and much more. The link is right below.

See ya later,
Hunter ~
